Personal information

When you contact us, register for events, subscribe to our site, sign up for our newsletter or field staff online assessment, AECO stores personal information about you. We need to store this information so that we can contact you and provide you with the service you are signing up for. Before we collect personal information, we will let you know which kind of information we will store and ask you for your consent  tostore it. Your information will be stored securely and will never be sold or disclosed for other purposes. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

AECO is an international organization registered in Tromsø, Norway, and is subject to EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Norway’s Personal Data Act. The Norwegian Data Protection Authority (DPA) is the supervisory authority for protection of personal data in Norway.

Cookies

When you visit our website, we collect and process different kinds of information using cookies. This happens for instance by when you access content, sign up for our newsletter, register for events, reply to surveys, register as a user or a subscriber or otherwise use our website. The purpose of using cookies is to register traffic and optimize content. This information cannot be traced back to you as an individual. If you accept the use of cookies, keep using the site as before.

We use Google Analytics to track traffic, usage patterns and trends on our website. The collected data is used to improve user experience and optimize content on the website. In accordance with Google’s guideliens, no personal information is collected about you as a user. The collected data is stored on Google’s servers. Passing on data

We use a number of third parties for storage and processing of data, including IT suppliers. They only process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes, as outlined in the Data Processing Agreement that they have signed with AECO.

Deletion of personal information

If you would like us to delete the personal information that you given us, please send an email to aeco@aeco.no.

Newsletter subscription

If you sign up for our newsletter and wish to unsubscribe, you can use the link at the bottom of the newsletter. You can also unsubscribe by sending an email to aeco(a)aeco.no.

Email updates

If you are an AECO member or have been in contact with us previously, we may send you email updates to inform you about relevant events and news. If you do not wish to receive emails from us, please send us an email to aeco@aeco.no.

Social media

AECO has social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Flickr. These social media platforms are run by third-party service providers. Users are encouraged to read the privacy policy of the social media platforms in question.

AECO reserves the right to delete comments that:

  • are spam or include links to other sites;
  • are clearly off topic;
  • advocate illegal activity;
  • promote particular services, products or political organizations;
  • infringe on copyrights or trademarks;
  • use personally identifiable information, such as a user’s address, phone number or other personal details;
  • are misleading, false, of a highly questionable nature, or otherwise unverifiable;
  • are obscene, abusive, hateful or intended to defame anyone or any organization;

AECO may take steps to remove or block users if they do not abide by these Terms of Use. Users may also be reported to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn if they do not comply to the service provider’s terms of use.
