Ilja Leo Lang, manager of AECO’s Copenhagen office, will take a leave of absence from July 2017 to February 2018. AECO is happy to announce that Ida Winther has accepted the position as acting office manager for the duration of Ilja’s eight month leave of absence.
Ida will be acting office manager for AECO’s Copenhagen office from July 2017 to February 2018, and will be working from a home office in Nakskov, Denmark. She will take over Ilja’s portfolio, and will among other things be responsible for the AECO/IAATO Polar Field Staff Conference 2017.
Ida is Greenlandic, and has worked in tourism for over 15 years. She was managing director of Hurtigruten Greenland, and sales and marketing manager for Hurtigruten Explorer in Denmark. She has also held the position of activity manager of Lalandia, Rødby, where she was responsible for the daily operations of 4 business units. She was project manager at Business Lolland-Falster, where here worked on development projects on local, regional and cross boarder cooperations. Before joining the AECO Secretariat, she was development manager for the regional tourism board VisitSydsjælland-Møn.
Ida holds a Bachelor degree in tourism, a Master of Business Administration from Henley Business School, as well as a Master in Professional Communication for Roskilde University Center. She is fluent in Greenlandic, Danish, English and German. Ida’s extensive knowledge and experience will help advance the interests of our members and bring new perspectives to the Secretariat’s work.
