The Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators (AECO), the Norwegian Institute of Nature Research (NINA) and Visit Svalbard invite you to participate in an Optimal Tourism Balance workshop in Longyearbyen September 11-13. The goal is to discuss, define and pitch research projects that can help Svalbard find the optimal tourist balance in tourist development.

AECO and the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) will deliver their third joint Polar Field Staff Conference from September 22 to September 25, 2019. The conference gathers guides, expedition leaders and operations managers working for both polar trade associations to support their shared mission of advocating and promoting safe and environmentally responsible polar travel. The three-day event will take place in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Every year since 2003 AECO's Annual Cruise Conference has gathered the international Arctic expedition cruise industry, government officials and other stakeholders connected to Arctic cruise tourism. In 2019 the conference will take place Wednesday, October 16.
The conference is followed by AECO members' only Annual Meeting, October 17.

The Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators (AECO), the Icelandic Coast Guard (ICG) and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Northern Norway (JRCC NN), invite cruise operators, SAR responders and other relevant stakeholders to join us for the Fifth Arctic Search & Rescue (SAR) Workshop & Table-Top Exercise (TTX). The overall objective for the Joint Arctic SAR TTX is to ensure safe Arctic cruise operations.
