AECO’s Arctic Cruise Conference, Annual Dinner and Annual Meeting 2022

October 18th, 2022 – October 20th, 2022

Every year since 2003 AECO's Annual Cruise Conference has gathered the international Arctic expedition cruise industry, government officials and other stakeholders connected to Arctic cruise tourism. In 2022 the conference will take place Wednesday, October 19, and will be followed by AECO's Annual General Meeting on Thursday October 20, for members only. On October 18, a destination focused theme session will take place for operational members.

Joint Arctic SAR TTX

Next event to be announched

The Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators (AECO), the Icelandic Coast Guard (ICG) and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Northern Norway (JRCC NN) in collaboration with ARCSAR (Arctic and North Atlantic Security and Emergency Preparedness Network) have organized  the annual Joint Arctic SAR Workshop and TTX since 2016. In 2020, the event was organized as a digital event. The organizing partners are aiming at organizing new in-person events as soon at the COVID-19 pandemic allows for it, but for the time being, AECO and partners are exploring opportunities for virtual events related to Arctic search and rescue. Date and theme for future events are to be determined and will be announced in due time.

Polar Field Staff Conference

Postponed until further notice

AECO, in collaboration with IAATO, will organize the next AECO IAATO Polar Field Staff Conference, time and location to be confirmed. This is an important meeting for IAATO and AECO field staff members to gather and discuss the shared missions of advocating and promoting safe and environmentally responsible travel to the polar regions. The conference gathers guides, expedition leaders and operations managers working for both polar trade associations to support their shared mission of advocating and promoting safe and environmentally responsible polar travel. This event is postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
