Arctic search and rescue partners pioneer virtual tabletop exercise

For the fifth year in a row, the Arctic expedition cruise industry, search and rescue sector and academia gathered for a joint tabletop exercise. This year, the exercise was organized as a fully virtual event, gathering nearly 130 participants from across the world.

AECO represents cruise industry in new Arctic SAR network

Cruise industry, authorities and researchers will join forces to enhance Arctic SAR through the new ARCSAR network. Having secured €3.5 million in EU funding, the ARCSAR project will run for five years and include a live exercise on a cruise vessel.

Expedition cruise ships help locate sailboat presumed lost in Svalbard

Monday evening, Northern Norway’s Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) received signals from an Emergency position indicating radio beacon (EPIRB) transmitting from a position just north of Magdalenafjorden (Magdalena Bay) in Svalbard.
